~~~Notes from Charles Stanley on living SPIRITUALLY MINDED~~~
“You can go to church, read your Bible once in awhile, but this does not make you spiritually minded. ” HOW TO HELP SOMEONE HURTING: “Humility and kindness must be supreme in your mind and actions. You need to have a gentle spirit that people can see in your eyes. You must be able to listen to people suffering from guilt, sin, or deception. Feel what they feel. Have the compassion of Christ when you see someone who is troubled. Come in the spirit of comfort, forgiveness, Godly love. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the mind of Christ to lead this person directly to their Savior. Never reveal what people open up to you about to anyone else. No one is above slipping and falling in their spiritual life. “Ask God to search your heart for sin, repent. Pray for God to speak to your heart to help this person. Depend totally upon the Holy Spirit to lead you in helping. He will give you discernment–what to say, what not to say, or to just listen. “God wants to use us to serve as a liberator in His stead to restore someone to know acceptance, forgiveness, and joy. Do not go looking for someone, but as the Holy Spirit brings someone across your path, respond through His Power to carry on the work of Jesus to restore them to acceptance and peace. Let God use you to release the burdens they are carrying around. Show them God’s mercy through your compassion and always be discreet. View everything as coming from God. Leave all the consequences to Him and you will win.”
Let God use you to release the burdens they are carrying around.
