Holy Spirit–Old & NEW Testament (9)

The Holy Spirit has been present with God the Father and God the Son as an essential member of the Trinity from the beginning, working in unity as ONE GOD to create the universe and interact with people. Throughout the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit anointed certain people to do certain tasks at certain times.

The Apostle Peter wrote, “….No prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were MOVED by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:20).

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

Paul WROTE much of the New Testament—all by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT. When you accept JESUS as your Lord and Savior, He gives you His Spirit. Yet the Bible makes it clear that receiving the FULLNESS of the Spirit—can be a separate experience. In fact, the HOLY SPIRIT CAN FILL YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN throughout your life as you OPEN YOURSELF to Him.

It’s by the Holy Spirit that you’re able to Glorify Jesus. It’s by the Holy Spirit that your heart is filled with song. It’s by the Holy Spirit that you’re able to say, “Jesus, I THANK YOU for everything just the way it is because I TRUST YOU.” And it’s by the Holy Spirit that you are empowered to say, “I FORGIVE you to someone who has hurt you.”

We can do nothing on our own except give ourselves just like JESUS gave Himself to His FATHER by example. The LOVE of God is shed abroad in our hearts BY the HOLY SPIRIT. You can FEEL the EVIDENCE in the POWER He gives you.

The HOLY SPIRIT CAN FILL YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN throughout your life as you OPEN YOURSELF to Him.
