In Hebrew, spirit means air in motion; the same word for breath and also means life. The HOLY SPIRIT was present at Creation along with God the Father and His Word, which (John 1:14) tells us is His Son, Jesus.
Many Christians will never know how marvelous their walk with Christ can really be UNTIL they discover the Third Person of the Trinity. The HOLY SPIRIT is the ONE who helps you with the struggles in life with daily choices and unexpected situations. He is the POWER Jesus Christ left for you to incorporate into your daily life.
The HOLY SPIRIT is in you and with you, interceding to the Father and Son for you. He is warning your spirit of danger ahead, warning your spirit of a bad decision. He shows you the LIGHT ahead, which is the path God the Father and God the Son have planned for you.
When you learn to ASK His help, be AWARE of and LISTEN to the Holy Spirit’s voice in your heart, your access to Power and Wisdom from Heaven is intensified all during your daily life. Jesus gave us His HOLY SPIRIT and many of us may not realize what tremendous POWER we have when we consult Him, when we speak God’s Word, and follow His guidance in Jesus’ name.
The HOLY SPIRIT begins to change your perspective, your thoughts and actions that go against the goodness of God and loving others. Jesus knew we couldn’t do it ourselves, so He sent His Holy Spirit to teach us to want to please God Almighty, Father of Heaven and earth.
Christ even described what it would be like to have the HOLY SPIRIT and how HE would change lives:
“You shall receive POWER when the HOLY SPIRIT has come upon you. You shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
Peter said, “We are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the HOLY SPIRIT whom God has given to those who OBEY Him” (Acts 5:32).
The LIGHT of the HOLY SPIRIT shows in the face of Stephen standing before the priests. “They saw his face as the face of an angel” (Acts 6:15).
The HOLY SPIRIT was involved in the miraculous conception and birth of Jesus. God the Father, through the action of HIS SPIRIT, sent His only beloved Son into the world. The HOLY SPIRIT was manifested in Jesus’ Incarnation, Baptism, and Ministry, as well as a central focus of His teaching.
All True Prophesy Comes From the Holy Spirit
(Isaiah 11:1-2), (42:1), and (61:1-2), through the Holy Spirit, predicts with incredible accuracy many key details about the coming Messiah:
(Isaiah 7:14) He would be born of a virgin, (9:6-7) Given as a Son with an everlasting reign, (53:4-10) Pierced and died for our sins, yet lives to see His offspring.
