Notes from Charles Stanley teaching: “How To Live the Extraordinary Life”
~~~1. A Divine Life–the living God is living through you.
~~~2. A Life of Purpose–to walk in the Will of God so your life counts.
~~~3. A Life of Faith–trust Him for His Promises and, in time of trials and troubles, believe He is in absolute control.
~~~4. A Life of continuing Surrender–realize He is in control of my life when I give Him my life.
~~~5. A Life of Joyful Obedience–some things are hard, not clear, but OBEDIENCE becomes Joyful because we KNOW it’s wise and the end result always brings blessings. He always turns our life to the good.
~~~6. A Life of Prayer and Praise–worshiping and listening in quiet; asking Him to speak to my heart; just listening to and experiencing His Divine presence; your praying all day long.
~~~7. A Life filled with the Holy Spirit–surrender and dependence on the Holy Spirit to live the Divine Life through us. It doesn’t mean we’re better than anybody else.
~~~8.A Life of total dependence–give up your pride. God will anable us. Be humble and let the Holy Spirit bring us to a place of Christlikeness. We have weaknesses only the Holy Spirit can change. He can do it through us.
~~~9. A Disciplined Life–if not, you ot walking in the Spirit. Prayer, reading the Bible, quiet time before Him, quality of works, would place us under the control of the Holy Spirit who disciplines our life, if we obey. Accept discipline that enables us to grow closer to Jesus.
~~~10. A Challenging Life–when people meet you, do they know somehow that Jesus lives on the inside of you? The inner man of Christ becomes the outward witness.
~~~11. A Unshakable Life–anchored in the TRUTH; resting in the PROMISES; focussed on the PRINCIPLES; strengthened by the EXAMPLES of God’s Word.
~~~12. A Fruitful Life (HOW?)–Give yourself away; share as God leads; serve Him to express your love for Him. Express love to God in what you do, how you do for others…..SERVE….willing to do the humble task, doing the work that has Eternal value. What difference does your life make to others in a given day–your words and actions???
~~~13. A Rich Life–full of the Word of God, knowledge of His promises, development of an intimate relationship with Him, continually seeking the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, signed on and living for your inheritance, focussed on the things death can’t take away.
~~~15. A Rewarding Life–peace beyond understanding, fulfillment, powerful, draws us away from things that are ungodly, complete satisfaction and contentment, and emotional wholeness.
Not living with one foot in Church and one in the world.
