Notes from Charles Stanley:
“Loneliness is a feeling of heaviness, disconnect, and insecurity. With Jesus, I will never be alone again, but I can still be lonely. To OVERCOME it, look at these suggestions:
1. Admit it to yourself.
2. What am I doing that is promoting loneliness?
3. Is this the way I want to live my life and meet God after a life of disobedience?
4. Surrender my life to Christ.
5. Ask God to deliver me from any behavior that would drag me back. “Come unto Me and I will give you rest, peace, and fulfillment.”
6. Cultivate a new friendship with someone who will lift and encourage you in a life with Christ. Reach out to people, but not someone who will drag you down.
7. Christ is in every circumstance in life with the Holy Spirit always in your heart.
8. Priority to read the Word of God everyday and pray. It is fuel and energy for your life.
9. Pray for a discerning spirit from the Holy Spirit.
10. Memorize a passage from Holy Scripture and say it during the day.
11. Reach out to SERVE someone. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to whom He wants you to SERVE.
12. Remember, you are NEVER ALONE because Jesus left you the Holy Spirit living in your heart.
Come unto Me and I will give you rest, peace, and fulfillment
