Notes from “The Jeremiah Study Bible”:
“Malachi focuses on the aspects of life that proves one’s faith: money, marriage, commitment, obedience, and the PLACE one gives to God in everyday life. Malachi mirrors much of the “Book of James.
“We must be careful of an ATTITUDE that results in a thousand compromises growing into consequential DISOBEDIENCE. God thankfully always leaves the door wide open for our change of heart.
“We must use the talents God has given us to serve Him or we can expect a reprimand on Judgement Day. This is in reference to the three men that were given talents to multiply and one of them just hid his. We must assume the roll God has given us. Here the word talent represents all the opportunities God gives us to serve Him, including our wealth, reputation, abilities, and learning, which we are to invest for His Glory until Christ’s second coming.
“We are to be ALERT, RESPONSIBLE, and ACCOUNTABLE. IF GOD REIGNETH FIRST and foremost in our life, we are BULLET PROOF to what ever comes our way. What does your life revolve around? What is the IT that your plans are set around?
“We reap what we sow, later than we sow. “
